The Italian Affogato is the perfect coffee dessert for after dinner! Affogato means drowned and it features two of Italy’s favorite things: gelato drowned in espresso.You can make it with espresso and vanilla gelato, or strong brewed coffee with vanilla ice cream.

  • Espresso Machine


  • 1 scoop vanilla gelato or icecream
  • ¼ cup of hot espresso or strong brewed coffee
  • 1 piece of dark chocolate -grated


  • In a chilled glass or cup, place a scoop of vanilla gelato or ice cream
  • Brew a 2 oz shot of espresso or strong coffee
  • Then slowly pour the shot over the ice cream
  • Garnish with grated dark chocolate
  • Serve with a spoon
  • Enjoy!
